Load shedding issues

As you well know load shedding is back and is here to stay for a while as per current news articles.

Eskom has implemented Stage 4 load shedding this week as they are facing various obstacles to ensure constant, reliable electricity to this country.

With the increasing of load shedding at this present time and damages to sub-stations caused by the load shedding, Current battery backup solutions do not have sufficient time to charge to full capacity.
This problem we face does not only affect our wireless network for stability, it will also affect all Fibre POP's hosted by VUMA, SADV, DFA, Openserve and many more.

We do recommend that a UPS system or surge protection is installed onto the CPE devices and computers to prevent them from getting damaged from surges that may occur when power is restored from municipalities.

Delays on responses due to high call volumes and support tickets can also be expected as well as slow. It also cause issues to support people in other towns because of the various time schedules of power outages.

We thank you for your patience in this regard and will appreciate if you take this into consideration.

With Warmest Regards

Pieter Rubeus
